What is a taught course?

Taught courses are advanced level qualifications which are usually completed after an undergraduate or Bachelor’s degree. Taught courses can provide you with an opportunity to further expand your knowledge of a subject area gained from your undergraduate studies. You may choose to study for a postgraduate taught course in an entirely different subject area- these are commonly known as ‘conversion courses.’

All of Swansea’s taught courses are one to three years in duration. Like an undergraduate degree, taught courses consist of a combination of lectures, seminars and assessed coursework. Master’s students will also be expected to complete an in-depth research project or dissertation.
